Red Flags to Watch for When Booking a Place to Stay
Searching for accommodation resembles the online dating experience because it features enticing images and flattering reviews together with promises of a welcoming atmosphere.
Similar to those false Tinder matches there exist some listings which you should completely disregard.
Limited or overly polished photos
The presence of limited photos or stock image photos should
make you question the quality of the listing. An authentic listing provides
different viewpoints that show bathrooms and common areas and property exterior
views. No photos = no go.
A total absence of reviews is noticeable but multiple reviews written in an identical fashion should raise suspicions about the listing.
Overuse of vague buzzwords
A place can use these positive descriptions so long as they
match actual experiences. A place that receives only generic praise about its
charm without any concrete details such as amenities or location needs further
investigation.
Lack of contact or slow responses from the
host/hotel
The lack of response from a potential accommodation when you
ask questions indicates poor service. Before booking the host or hotel must
demonstrate their responsiveness and willingness to help customers.
